At the Marquis Cornwallis we pride ourselves on our great British pub food menu. Freshly made ingredients are prepared on site to deliver something special time and time again. But recently, due to your feedback, have gone through a complete overhaul of the menu. We will be keeping your favourites such as Fish Finger Sandwich, Sausage & Mash & Steak & Ale Pie but changing some of the ingredients to make it even better. New additions to the menu include Halloumi Salad, Slow Cooked Belly of Pork or Roast Sprig Bone Guinea Fowl. But we are far from just traditionalists; a great homemade British beef burger which always goes down really well and now we have added a Lamb Burger. We also offer lots of snacks such as Houmous & Flatbread with added crudités or Baked Camembert or a massive sharing board with a great selection of our snacks including Crab Cakes and Mini Burgers for you and your friends to nibble on.
Specials will really mean special at the Marquis from now on with Fish of the Day being anything from fresh Sea Bream to Sole. Other specials include Mustard Crusted Lamb Rump; Gammon and Eggs or Vegetable tagine served with roasted red pepper cous cous.
Don't forget to pop in on Sundays where a chilled out ambiance is complemented by a great Sunday Roast offering; choose from Roast Beef; Roast Chicken; Roast Lamb all served with lashings of gravy, roast spuds, mashed potato, seasonal vegetables and a massive Yorkshire pudding. For those who don’t fancy meat on a Sunday our Vegetarian Nut Roast is pretty good. Wash it all down with a nice spiced Bloody Mary.
When it comes to Afters, well we have made some changes too like adding a tasty Cheese Board, sweets such as Mascarpone Cheese Cake, Eton Mess, Chocolate Brownie Sundae, Lemon Tart and even a Sharing Desert for those who can’t decide on any particular one. We are also stocking some New Drinks to our range will help compliment these sweets. As we are a pub; alcohol is what we do best. We have 23 draught beers, lagers and ciders available throughout the year. Unusual wheat beers, fruit beers, the best of British ale; a variety of ciders medium, dry and even organic. Our selection is topped off with a great variety of Pilsners (lagers) i.e. Peroni, Amstel, Becks Vier, Budvar and many more. Oh and did I mention we have a fantastic cooling system to keep all this beers at perfect temperature.
We have some new arrivals in our draught range with Red Stripe, Kuppers Kolsch & Gaymers pear cider. Due to the popularity of our real ales we have also invested in a new hand pump. This will give us a chance to rotate our beer range even more regularly. So if there is anything you would like to see being poured please let us know and we will do our best. At the moment we are serving St. Austells Tribute, London Pride, Black Sheep, Sussex Best Bitter and our guest ale for this week is Adnams Extra.
We have a wide selection of ever changing bottle beers and spirits including bourbons, malt whiskeys & rums. We have a tasty long drinks range including Mojito, Pimms & Lemonade, Summer Breeze, Cubre Libre, Ultimate G&T (with Hendricks) & Tom Collins. Our wines offered far exceeds what you would expect in any pub all offered at outstanding value. Over thirty wines both sparkling and still with over twenty of these by the glass. We aim to change some of these depending on popularity every six months.
But we are not all about intoxication. Our drinks list includes a huge choice of soft drinks to ensure that you don’t always have to choose alcohol. We will be happy to mix up your favourite potion upon arrival.
